Luxor Temple

It is a must-see in southern Egypt on the east bank of the Nile, where history and culture meet in a remarkably picturesque setting. The famous Sphinx Avenue, approximately 3 km long, is an attraction that connects the Luxor Temple with the Karnak Temple, creating a unique trail filled with ancient secrets and fascinating stories. Along this avenue, you can admire impressive sculptures that not only symbolize the power of the pharaohs, but also testify to the excellent skills of the craftsmen of that time. Additionally, the place draws you into an atmosphere of mysticism and impresses with its rich history, making every step a journey into the past.

Karnak Temple

The most famous tourist destination in Upper Egypt on the east bank of the Nile. Just as the Luxor Temple was part of Thebes in ancient times. It has its own avenue of kriosphinxes leading to the temple in Luxor. Karnak is a complex of temples dedicated to the Theban gods: Amon-Re, Montu, and Mut (Amon’s wife). In the evening, you can see the Sound and Light Show in Karnak.

The Valley of the Kings

The necropolis of the pharaohs of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties on the West Nile will reveal to you the tombs of the pharaohs, paintings, and architecture of the hand-carved rock stairs, corridors, and burial chambers, which impress with their complexity and realism. You will be amazed by the grandeur and meticulous craftsmanship of the resting places of the rulers, where every detail tells a story intertwined with myths and reality. This is still one of the most important sources for understanding the history, culture, and mentality of the ancient Egyptians. Visiting these monumental structures, you can admire the architectural craftsmanship and the religious aspects that guided the builders of these tombs.

Temple of Hatshepsut

Often mistakenly called a tomb, this place of worship was built by Senenmut in the 15th century BCE for Queen Hatshepsut, and features a chapel dedicated to Hathor and Anubis. This temple, also known as the „Temple of a Million Years,” is distinguished by its impressive architecture and rich decorations that depict the life and achievements of the queen. Located in the picturesque surroundings of Deir el-Bahari, surrounded by steep cliffs, it has become a source of inspiration for many artists and researchers.

Luxor Museum

The Archeological Museum (Corniche el-Nil) is located halfway between the temples in Karnak and Luxor, making it an excellent starting point for discovering the extraordinary historical treasures. The museum boasts a rich collection of artifacts from temples and necropolises on the western bank of the Nile, offering visitors a unique insight into the lives of ancient Egyptians and their beliefs. Among the exhibits are sculptures, inscriptions, and everyday objects that help to understand the culture of this unique region. Additionally, the Mummification Museum will reveal to you the ancient techniques of embalming bodies, showing the processes that were aimed at preserving the bodies for eternity and passing their souls to the afterlife, which was crucial in Egyptian religion.
